Rounding Out the Year

Dec 30, 2005 22:38

One more day to go for 2005, and it's "Hello, 2006!"

What happened this year that I am thankful for?

I finished my term as V.P. FOR MEMBERSHIP in PMHS. And in doing so, I got to welcome and induct 31 new members into the org.

I finished COLLEGE. Hot damn. When I think about graduation day, it seems like ages ago. But when I reminisice about college life and everything that happened in it, it seems like it was only yesterday. Weird.

I got to go to PUERTO GALERA with my college friends. Those were three splendid days, people... Three days of killer banana boat rides, going to the "end of the world", Mindoro slings, and coconut oil massages for just 2,000+ a head?! Yes way.

I finally learned to drive the van. In other words, MANUAL STEERING. Yeah, our Lite Ace is old and klunky, it's a tough little thing.

I have a nice JOB. It doesn't pay gazillion majillions, but I can honestly say that teaching is fun. It might not (or might) be a long-term thing, but I'm enjoying it for the moment. As Rinka said, "At least we don't have to sell our souls."

And because I've been known to sweat the details, here are a couple of "smaller" things that I'm thankful for this year:

I finished a nice handful of games on the PS2, thanks in part to my long lay-off between graduation and the start of my teaching. Namely, I finished: Shadow Hearts II: Covenant, YS VI: Ark of Napishtim and Shadow of the Colossus. Thetwo "Shadow" games were really great; I'd recommend them to anyone who hasn't played them yet.

We finally got ourselves a digicam. Yeah, it's long overdue, I know, and one camera for 7 people? It's better than nothing!

For a brief moment in my life, I had a Motorola E398 (sob!). Yup, I'm still mourning its loss.

And of course,

I'm happy that I'm still blessed to be around my family, my girlfriend, friends new and old, and loved ones.

I had a good year.
