YEah... as many of the faithful know by now One of the Greatest Super stars in Prowrestleing was found dead on Sunday morning in his hotel room on Sunday Morning... Eddie Guerrero..
I'm still in shock myself... even though it's 2 days later... Even with Eddie's drug and alochol Past he was a fan favorite because he conqured those demons. I've always been a fan of Eddie's since WCW and even sith some fo the stupid gimmicks he had he was still one of my favorites off of his wrestling skills and ability. He could fly with the best of the crusier weights. He could go toe to toe with the Big men. He was great in singles and Tag team competition... Eddie, much like another departed Wrestler(Owen Hart), Could and Did do it all and he was at the top of his game.
He had some much more to come but had it snatched away in the blink of an eye. I can't even begin to describe how I feel. Like many others I want to jump up and scream "This is a Bad Dream, HE's Not gone", Wake up, wait for Smackdown to come on, and see Eddie's Smiling face pulling a fast one on someone. But I know it's not going to happen...
Eddie was an Icon plain and simple. Anyone who says otherwise needs an ass kickign from every person to ever lace up a pair of wrestling boots and every fan that's ever seen Eddie in action either live or on tv. Whether he was booed or cheered, He preformed. He Improved in matches to make up for faults by other wrestlers or just to get the crowd's attention, IE recent events with the Batista angle before the Batista/Eddie Title match a crowd at a house show started an "Eddie's Gay" Chant and Eddie played into it just to play with the crowd. That shows his dedication to the sport, Many wrestlers(especially newer Talent) would not even bother to play into the crowd but the veteran in Eddie knew what buttons to push and he pushed them very firmly..
In closing I would like to say that Eddie had been an impact on my life and many others. I know many will miss him and some probably don't even know about this yet but when they do I will wager their hearts will drop in to the core of their souls and have the same feelings muddle through them that I had. He will be a greatly missed superstar. My Heart goes out to his family and their loved ones. May Eddie be remembered for ever as he joins those Hallowed halls with other greats like Owen Hart, Curt Hennig, Chris Candido, Rick Rude, Brian Pillman, Bobby Duncum Jr, Crash Holly(Michael Lockwood), and many other Wrestlers who were called before their time, in the highlight of their careers...
Good Night and Good Bye Eddie... May your soul Rest in Peace...
Much like Chris Jericho had posted on his site I'm probably going curl up and cry myself to sleep from all the grief I(and many others) feel from these happenings...
