Cynthia Sucks
On March 29, 2006, Represenative Cynthia McKinney, D-GA, allegedly punched a United States Capitol Police officer in the chest with her cell phone after he supposedly grabbed her arm while she went around the metal detectors at the Longworth House Office Building entrance. This is not the first time McKinney has had issues with the police before. On the morning of the latest said incident, McKinney did not wear an identification pin that lawmakers are asked to display when entering Capitol facilities. Instead, she (McKinney) found it necessary to strike the officer when stopped and asked to show proper identification. Rep. Cynthia McKinney could have avoided the entire confrontation had she complied and showed the officer the required identification.
I get asked for identification every day I step foot in my place of employment, even though the security guards know me. It's just procedure. Asking for proper identification is NOT racism. Get over it and quit playing the race card.
WASHINGTON - U.S. Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer said Wednesday that Rep. Cynthia McKinney turned an officer’s failure to recognize her into a criminal matter when she failed to stop at his request, and then struck him. [1]
“I’ve seen our officers stop white members and black members, Latinos, male and females,” Gainer told CNN. “It’s not an issue about what your race or gender is. It’s an issue about making sure people who come into our building are recognized if they’re not going through the magnetometer, and this officer at that moment didn’t recognize her.” [1]
"Cynthia McKinney is a racist," Rep. Tom DeLay, R-Texas, said on Fox News Channel [...] "She has a long history of racism. Everything is racism with her. This is incredible arrogance that sometimes hits these members of Congress, but especially Cynthia McKinney." [2]
