The United States became a nation of 300 million people at 7:46ET October 17, 2006. 
  • The United States gains one person every 11 seconds.
  • A child is born every seven seconds in the United States while a death occurs every 13 seconds.
  • A migrant enters the country every 31 seconds.
  • The United States claimed 100 million people in 1915 and reached 200 million in 1967.  The Census Bureau estimates that the 400 millionth person would arrive in 2043.
