There's a dog upstairs that barks a lot at the new place. I hadn't noticed it that much (my fan gives great white noise), but
actress_in_nyc mentioned it this morning, and we started jokingly planning the dog's demise. Now I have "Today 4 U" from Rent stuck in my head.
I couldn't find the toolbox in
actress_in_nyc's closet last night, and she found it for me this morning- I had seen it in the closet, but dismissed it as "not a toolbox" because it's round and looks like it should contain exercise equipment or cosmetics or something. It's a girly toolbox. So, putting in air conditioner tonight.
Am not seeing any shows or anything tonight, so I can get some more unpacking done.
carasol said she might come over to help, and
actress_in_nyc said she might get some wine, then.
Playwright's group was okay- read my one-act that I wrote for the Bar Plays. It's really more of a skit- it's not particularly satisfying. Elana said the people who run those Bar Plays aren't very on the ball anyway.
Elana had us read the new opening scene from the piece she's been working on. She's condensed 3 long scenes into 2 shorter ones. VERY impressive work.
Then
carasol and I stayed and socialized till around 9. We took the 2-3 uptown, then changed to the 1 train- not a bad trip from Brooklyn to Inwood, just long.
We were appalled by some of the MTA's "weekend service changes" signs, and decided to make our own:
Weekend Changes
2 3 4
August 9-10
2 trains run on the 4 line
4 trains run on the 2 line
3 trains run on the Narnia line from Beaversdam to Caer Paravel
Man-eating wolves replace trains from 125th St. to the Lantern Waste.
How will this affect my trip? Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve may be devoured or turned to stone.
