"Black Hole" is a racist term? You know I'm all for political correctness, but this is ri-god-damn-diculous.
Video here. Forgot to mention we dedicated the July 22 performance of Prince Trevor to Estelle Getty. I asked the house manager to add that to her curtain speech.

I couldn't bring myself to watch the video. When I worked at Harvard, I got a talking-to for using the terms "blacklist" and "whitelist" when talking about blocking spamming sites. The term "blacklist" is a nautical term rooted deeply there, not in any sort of racism, and using "whitelist" is just a natural reversal (plus, there is the option of "greylisting.") Still some PC people took great offense and censored me toward using a more acceptable term of "blocklist," which just annoyed the piss out of me.
This guy, like so many others, obviously just wants to be a douche because he can be. I mean, should I, who is from a rural white Southern background, protest the chain of "Cracker Barrel" because it suggests that only "crackers" like me eat there? No. It's retarded. It's the same crap for this guy, who instead of finding real instances of oppression there (and I do believe they exist) chooses to use dramatically ( ... )

I cannot believe how unbelievably ignorant the human race can get. That is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. That's right up there with this dork. That incident was notorious in DC, I remember well when it happened. I think they could hear my head exploding on the West Coast.
Newsflash, Einstein: a black hole is a LITERAL, not a figurative, black hole--because there's no light! It's blacker than you are!
I believe in the power of words, and I would never argue that it's stupid to people to take offense at hurtful phrases or slang expressions "because there are [so-called] more important things." Language reinforces stereotypes, or conversely can reinforce positive thinking. However, this is not about hurtful language--this is about being ignorant and demanding that everyone around you cater to your ignorance, and gutting the strength and richness of the English language.
