Happy Birthday somecamerunning!

Last night's Much Ado rehearsal went really well. It was at the same theatre where I saw camussaysthecow's most recent reading.
Since Roi and I are only in Act II, Kyle decided to do Act II first. Very nice of him.
The guy playing the Claudio character had to drop out, so we have this new very pretty kid named Austin. I was also kind of surprised that there was no Ciccarelli in this reading- he's been playing the Borachio character all the readings I've been to.
Jess and I had a great time with our one scene together.
The script is a lot tighter and shorter. There's a new scene that's been added near the end, which is hilarious (though there's dialogue in it that's ostensibly about Sleeping Beauty, but all the specific references other than the title are to Snow White (glass coffin, apples). I mentioned it to the writers). They took one specific suggestion of mine from the previous reading/draft iteration, to change the order of the last two lines of a scene to make an exit stronger, and the actor nailed it.
Jess and I went out for a smoke at intermission (I don't smoke, but I'm always happy to accompany a friend), and caught each other up on our lives. He's a little nervous about having to kiss Crefeld in front of his boyfriend. I pointed out that Cref's wife will probably be there too, and that was a comfort.
Gave hottie Don John my card- he might be good in Prince Trevor, I certainly want him to audition. He was flattered.
Had some beer and stayed for about half of Act I, up until the party scene, then headed home.
It's gonna be fun. Can't wait til' Tuesday.

Heading out to pick up and deposit my paycheck this morning, though I have the day off from work. Think I'll stop off at Whole Foods and pick up some groceries on the way home- Mmmm, honey-roasted peanut butter.

Then Horovitz plays tonight. Landlady's coming along with me, sweet! Hope they're good; I fear they will not be.

Then tomorrow off to Jersey for Easter with the family. w00t!

i hate love, hotties, reviews, readings, fairy tales, rehearsals, food, acting
