CASTING NON-EQUITY ACTORS for a workshop staged reading performance (Katherine and Friends) of “The Thyme of the Season”, a new Sequel to Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, written by Award-Winning Playwright Duncan Pflaster.
Performance will be Monday, September 17th, 2007 at 7pm. There will be limited rehearsal time, and actors will carry books in hand.
ALL PERFORMERS SHOULD BE EXPERIENCED IN PERFORMING SHAKESPEAREAN-STYLE VERSE.
ONLY NON-EQUITY ACTORS. All ethnicities are encouraged to submit for auditions.
CASTING THE ROLES OF:
OBERON: King of the Fairies. Haughty, sometimes cruel. Can be frightening. Deep voice preferred. Very attractive, if not necessarily handsome. Costume will most likely be shirtless.
TITANIA: Queen of the Fairies. A beautiful, powerful, sexy woman. Good singing voice a plus. Costume will most likely be skimpy.
DEMETRIUS: Tall and handsome, hot-headed and kind of a jerk. Role requires nudity and kissing another man. We will ask for nudity at callbacks.
PUMPKINSEED: An androgynous autumn fairy, played by a female performer. Sweet, naïve, but with a core of strength. In love with Puck. Role requires kissing another woman.
