Just got an E-mail from Judi Polson- she's playing Emma Goldman in a musical that isn't Ragtime or Assassins, sometime in June. Which means there's three musicals that feature Emma Goldman as a character. So now I don't have to write the third, as I was threatening to do during Ragtime at DeBaun. Whew! Load off my mind.
Jess left the picnic on Sunday earlier than everyone else because he was going to ballet class. Nobody knew he was taking ballet. He's also starting the Bikram Yoga 30-day-challenge soon, which he will finish up just in time for my birthday party.
My belt (which I got at Conway for $7, a year ago) had been falling apart- the buckle was wobbly (the belt was reversible). At Randi and Dave's party, it finally gave up the ghost- I opened my belt to prepare to pee, and the buckle snapped right off and fell into the toilet bowl. I fished it out and threw the belt and buckle in the trash.
Then I tracked down Randi and Dave to let them know that there was a belt in their bathroom trash can, since that would be an odd thing to find without any explanation.
Randi took it as a compliment to her Down-Home Cooking. (For which, by the way, with all the cooking she did for the Kentucky Derby Party, she said she'd used 6 sticks of butter, 6 pounds of sugar, and several dozen eggs. Well worth it. Or maybe the 6 lbs of sugar were for the icing for Dave's birthday cupcakes last week- that makes more sense.)
I don't know if I mentioned before that I asked if I could hire her to make her creme de menthe brownies for my birthday party, and she said yes. Perhaps I can convince her to experiment (as we'd discussed once) and make Chambord brownies instead. That's an experiment I'd be glad to fund. Mmmm.
Finally got Dave's E-mail address so I can send him stuff for StoryTime!.
Already so much stuff to do this week. Meeting with David to discuss The Wastes of Time tomorrow,
kellygirlnyc stand-up on Wednesday (then Marie's Crisis afterward), Erstwhile Adam's stand-up on Thursday,
kellygirlnyc and
mollyx's birthday parties on Friday,
walltack's party on Saturday.
...And Dave Z's boyfriend Jose's having a birthday party on the 27th, and there's
ceebeegee's Shakespeare Revue on the 19th, then Jim Allen's sleepover on the 20th. And Elana and Dave's housewarming BBQ on the 28th. Need to see
darksheik's Romeo and Juliet sometime, too! And I know there's more stuff later in the month I'm forgetting.
