today -
today is work at the bed and breakfast, then a run to the dump, a run to the recycling center (hopefully - depends on what we have around here) - also hoping to put the gear basket on the xterra, the dash mount for my gps IN the xterra, and to test out the power inverter cybret got me for my birthday!
busy day =) but i'm looking forward to it.
time is passing amazingly fast!
i leave for the big road trip (i really need a name for this thing) in 37 days! yikes!
the trip isn't completely fleshed out - i would say it has a skeleton and most of the muscles - but not tons of flesh yet. most of the flesh will come AS i'm driving. (such is the nature of gypsies.... *wink*)
here's a little more detail for those who care...
the first leg: MA -> KY is pretty much taken care of -
MA -> NJ (camping)
NJ -> MD (staying with tragical_mirth
MD -> IL (might crash at mordotus and thegiggler1's if necessary, but hope to drive through)
staying in IL (somewhere) for the night (possibly with hb_merlot and currylicious) or with CYBret)
IL -> IN (crashing in jeffersonville, IN to make a special cache-stop along the way)
IN -> KY
will be in Lexington for the month for Keeneland staying at hb_merlot's and currylicious's backyard *grins*) -
the second leg: KY -> CO is also pretty much taken care of -
KY -> TN (stay with kristy, see joe et all)
TN -> KY (see/stay with the ex-inlaws for a few days)
KY -> MS (camping at Finger Lakes State Park)
MS -> KS (camping at Glen Elder State Park)
KS -> KS (camping at Cedar Bluffs State Park)
KS -> CO
will be in Denver with Michael and his family for barely over a week - planning day trips to Utah, to New Mexico, to Wyoming & Nebraska - plus lots of checking out local flavor time -
third leg is broken into a few mini stays at places -
CO -> SD (staying for 4 nights in Rapid City - day trips to see Devils Tower (first national monument), possibly Little Big Horn area in Montana, of course time spent at Mount Rushmore and then some of the local area as well.
SD -> SD (staying in the eastern end before hitting ND)
SD -> ND (staying in Bismarck to check out the capital)
ND -> MN
MN -> WI (totally stopping to see the the mustard museum! (i'm not event joking))
WI -> IL (staying with Carleen and Ken for a few nights to do some caching and pub crawling!)
IL -> IL
will be with Andrew and Jessica for two-three weeks (TBD) and quite possibly CYBret as well up until christmas time.
still need to work out some visiting time with oaxaca for the new year!
then it's over to Columbus, OH to spend a week with mordotus and thegiggler1 - after that, i'm FLYING to San Diego to spend a week with tilthouse and sweetennui!!! there WILL be caching in Mexico! (well, at least one!) - after the flight home, probably a day or two of recovery from the flight and time to prep for the drive home.
I have no solid plans for the drive home yet - that will be planned... ummm.. at some point in the future =)
geeky-ness: FTWC (for those who care) - at the end of this trip, if all goes as loosely planned, i will only have 5 states left to cache in! (Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington and Idaho)
