okey dokey
I wanted to post a little about the fall trip -
here's a rough outline:
(dates to be determined later)
*Cape Cod to Maryland to see tragical_mirth - probably camp somewhere half down on the way
*Maryland to Louisville for a chance to do Captain McHarry's Vault cache with cybret
*Lousiville to Lexington to stay in my home away from home for the month with currylicious and hb_merlot!
*work at Keeneland for the month
*Lexington to Nashville to visit with Kristy for a few days - stay with Kristy
*Nashville to Owensboro to see my second family for a few days - stay with family
*Owensboro to St. Louis to hit a specific cache and quite possibly see The City Museum again - may camp here
*St. Louis to Crawker City, Kansas to see the worlds largest ball of twine. No, I'm not kidding - Will also hit Lebanon, Kansas to visit the geographic center of the 48 contiguous states and probably camp or hit a hotel somewhere nearby
*Lebanon - Centennial, Co to visit with my friend Michael (caching friend) and his family for a few days - staying with them
*Quick trip to Nebraska and Wyoming to snag a couple of caches and to get to the highest point in Nebraska (Panoramic Point) while at Michaels.
*I MIGHT make a drive to Utah, or to the four corners, or to New Mexico (Or all three) while staying in Colorado depending in how i feel about it.
*Centennial, Co to Little Big Horn Battle site and the Crow Reservation in Montana (will probably be my longest drive of the entire trip - might break for the night halfway there). Will stay in a hotel nearby (most likely, unless it's warm enough to camp) and explore for an unknown time
*Back down to the Black Hills of South Dakota to cache and see Mount Rushmore and the surrounding area (Also, most likely the center of the 50 states) for an unknown amount of time.
*Drive across South Dakota then up to West Fargo, North Dakota. Hotel there.
*Drive across Minnesota (Might see their largest ball of twine, we'll see) into Michigan - hotel there in order to hit a specific cache
*Drive from hotel down to Chicago to see Carleen and Ken (caching friends) stay with them for a couple of days (unknown)
*From Carleen and Ken's, drive down to Charleston, IL to see Andrew and Jessica (and Leah and Jeanna!) to stay for possibly two weeksish
*taking a side trip with cybret up to Iowa to cache in the state and get the American Gothic cache!
I haven't mapped out the trip after Christmas yet - it's a bit sketchy - might see if i can pop up to South Bend to visit with oaxaca if he can tolerate me for a day or two :p then I'd be driving down/over to see Thegiggler1 and mordotus in Columbus for a weekish - with a possible flight out to San Diego on skybus (SUPER CHEAP!) while i'm out there. After that, I'll be heading across Pennsylvania to hit a few specific caches, stopping somewhere in there - and then back up to New England with a few specific stops along the way to be determined later.
When I really think about the grand scope of this trip, I'm a bit intimidated, but I probably won't have the chance to do something like this ever again, so i'm running with it! If anyone has ANY experience with LONG road trips, please drop me a line =)

I JUST booked my flight from Columbus OH to San Diego, CA - Can't wait to see tilthouse and sweetennui!!!!
