I have been removing and replacing things that I installed into my life which have been costly of time and energy. While not entirely unrewarding (they were rewarding in the past, but are less so now), are not feeding the ways in which I most want to grow. This is a long list of 'life makeover' items for me, including choosing to quit my work and retrain for something new, leaving my remote house and prepare it for sale, and finding a partner-oriented shared housing closer to friends and activities. These steps have changed my world and improved it. It's a matter of changing where I spend my time and energy.

Finally, a couple summers ago I bought some things really nice for myself to celebrate my desire for my own artistic growth and sense of connection with my dreams. I equipped myself with a better camera, a new guitar, and backpacking equipment. While I had to borrow a little to do it, it has added much to my sense of self and my ability to move forward in my life.

So, consider where you spend your time and energy. Consider your base assumptions. Can you make a change that will help you align where you're putting your efforts that will connect you better with meeting your needs and dreams? If yes, find support and encouragement and set your plans to go there. You are totally worth it and you will find it gives you more to offer others.
