Being in the apartment building we lived in when I was about 3, and standing at the bottom of the steps to the apartment upstairs. My mom had made snickerdoodles and had let us have some. She sent some upstairs to the couple who lived there, and I cried standing there--because she was giving the cookies away that I could have had. I felt so deprived. I didn't know I'd get more. That's almost 50 years ago, but my sis made snickerdoodles this year as she has for the past several years. She gave us all a bunch.
There may be one other memory but I have no way right now of placing it in time, could have been around the same time or earlier. It was just of me being at my uncle's house in West Virginia.
