Harry Potter (officially) in ebook format this fall

I can't say I have a complete understanding of what's going on here, but it does seem that the Harry Potter books will begin being released officially in ebook format this fall. More here.

I hope what they have in mind works, though I have to say, I think it would have been far simpler just to release the books through the various retailers.
