Part of me very much wants them to have cuddles and awesome cross-generational sex. But this is the story that's been in my mind since the movie. My mind tends to go to the angsty place first.

it was Kirk seeking a connection and Spock Prime couldn't reciprocate
In some ways I find that more likely than the other way around. Spock Prime has years and years of history with his Kirk, and he must miss that terribly. Reboot!Kirk may technically be the same person, but even leaving aside all the differences due to Nero's actions, he wasn't there for everything Spock Prime and Kirk Prime went through together. Through no fault of reboot!Kirk's, being with him just wouldn't be the same.
