Here's the first story for this round of my ficlet project. To my delight, biichan's prompt fit in with something I'd already started and gave me the impetus to finish it

Part of me very much wants them to have cuddles and awesome cross-generational sex. But this is the story that's been in my mind since the movie. My mind tends to go to the angsty place first.

Thank you! I managed to make myself sad for reboot!Kirk (whom I don't like all that much). It's not his fault that what Spock wants is original!Kirk, with whom he had all the shared history.
Ooh, cool. Hmmm... it occurs to me that the older generation of Buffyverse characters (Giles, Ethan, Joyce, etc) would have -- or, at least, could have -- watched ST:TOS when it first aired. Do you think you could do something with one or more of them either rewatching now, or watching the Reboot film? Paired or gen, as you like. Would that work?
Sorry, I can only take one request at a time or I'll make myself crazy. I certainly hope you're the first commenter soon, though, because I'd love to write York and Henderson.
the absurdly blond hair when he was a boy
Well, that actually didn't seem absurd to me. Lots of blond children get brown hair as they get older--I was pale, pale blond as a child and you'd never know it now. (There's photographic evidence here if you're curious). But I think that as an adult reboot!Kirk's hair is blonder than original!Kirk, or at least a different color. I was thinking more of hair dye than any kind of permanent tinkering, in this case.
Weirdly enough, when I dyed my hair blond some years ago it did not look right at all. But then it's hard to get a natural-looking blond color with dye. (I no longer wish to be blond; it was just a phase.)
I'm glad you liked it! And thanks for your awesome request, which was just what I needed to make me finish a story I'd been thinking (i.e. procrastinating) about for far too long.

Ah. Too slow; not first after all. Does this count anyway?
And now I have time, this is a lovely and sad story. Nice explanation for the eyes and the absurdly blond hair when he was a boy, too. :-)

Me too. I was so freaking blond when I was tiny and now my hair is, like, medium-to-dark brown.
