I just finished "The Masque of Mandragora," which was dull and occasionally laughable (it's a bad idea to write in a big masque scene if you can only afford to hire about six extras). oh god YES. This was the very first old Who episode I ever saw, and I was absolutely riveted by the incredible gay of those two.

Early on I kept thinking, "They can't possibly be MEANT to seem this gay." And then Giuliano introduced Marco to the Doctor and Sarah: "This is Marco, my [meaningful pause] companion." So I decided that it probably was.
