Once upon a time, I liked cereal. I ate it every morning for breakfast and lived a happy life. One day though, when I was about 8, everything changed.
I poured myself a bowl of Fruit Loops, just like all the days before. My mom was making my dad his usual cup of milk and raw egg... just like all the days before. I munched happily at the bright colored circles for a few minutes before casting a fleeting glance down at the rainbow colored milk. I did a double take. I screamed. Floating within the colorful confines of my cereal bowl was a daddy-long-legs spider.
For many, many years after that incident, I refused to eat cereal. It was only about two years ago that I was finally willing to overcome my fear and I once again began munching happily at the grainy substance. Thankfully, no other incident has occured; and I hope that all spiders, or any other bug for that matter, stay away from my breakfast.
