'To talk of many things,
Of sailing ships and sealing wax,
Of cabbages and kings,
Of why the sea is boiling hot
And whether pigs have wings.'
Or, in this instance, for me to eat my words.
I had said that I would not edit or revise the manuscript until it was done, but I find that I've come to the point where I know what the solution is but I've made some blunders flailing around trying to understand WHY different characters were doing different things ... trying to rationalize why they were doing one thing instead of another ... that I feel I need to go back and clean it up. Most egregariously, I had thought that once Alys finished up the postmortem Madame said she was elbows deep in that she would be free to do other things - because at the time Alys and her doings were a big blank to me. But now I find that I know what she's been doing all the while and ... I have to make some changes.
So, I've printed out what I have to date and will be looking it over. Wish me luck?
