Ah, August! When a young* mother's fancy turns to ... Back to School specials. :-)
Or, in my case, a doll clothing designer. This past week, I've been busy creating school uniforms for the 18 in. doll. Plus one.
These are the three designs I came up with -
Girl's School Uniform 1 - box-pleated skirt with vest, blouse with Peter Pan collar :
Girl's School Uniform 2 - jumper, blouse with Peter Pan collar
Boy's School Uniform - slacks with vest, dress shirt
You might notice that each uniform has a "pin" (Tree of Life) where the school logo would go. That, I have decided, is the logo for Aldwyns Academy. I would like to go on record as saying - these are the school uniforms for earthbound students. Unlike the school in Scotland, Aldwyns also accepts other races in the capacity of scholar. (Including those of mixed race.)
The plus one uniform design is a male winged hob uniform - slacks w/ vest, tunic-style shirt :
PK (short for pitukupf, which is like calling a dwarf DW, an elf Alfie or a boggart Humphrey) has a different design of the the tree - mostly because the other pin is too large for him. Here's a photo of him and Catori to show scale.
It's interesting to me that I had Madison for several months and could not get myself to do anything in the way of clothing design. But Sunny (that's what I called her) wasn't my doll - I bought her knowing that I'd be sending her on to my great-great niece. She was a sweet doll, absolutely adorable, but there was no communication.
Catori (a Springfield Naya model) is mine. Almost as soon as I took her out of the bag, she began "talking" to me - back story filling in, back-story requiring outfits to match. More about that in a later post, this one is long enough.
