My head is empty, no thoughts rattling around inside. In a few minutes (ago) I must rise to deal with laundry - wet and cold and dripping. Not enough coffee, not enough brain.

This is the Monkey King - see him balanced on his staff? Fighting dragons? Surely not even the Monkey King would be so bold, so an-dàna.

Of course he would!

I have a story in mind for posting, something from the Arabian Nights ... sort of. In the AN, the story is unfinished, told from beginning to middle, but it seems to be along the lines of 'sea-fairy sees boy, sea-fairy woos boy, boy is stupid boy'. To be clear, the "rest" of the story is NOT in the Arabian Nights - it's told from the pov of a male on a journey to the conclusion up to that point and no further. The implication is that he will continue on the journey, his brothers will be released from their punishment and that will be the end but ...

I think there's more to it. Problem is ... I have this ... warped notion that the sea-fairy in question might be named Ursula. I have to think about it some more.

While I'm thinking about it, I'll watch the dragons at play.

folklore, dialann, dragons, arabian nights
