Had a pretty good weekend!
Friday after work I went over to my parents' house to deliver my mom's Mother's Day gift, since I wouldn't be seeing her the rest of the weekend. I also squeezed in a tip to Target for some stuff while they looked after Henry. Saturday we went over to my mother in law's for a pre-Mother's Day lunch. It was relatively painless. Ha. Came home, then Sean wanted to go do some shopping. So, he left, armed with a grocery list and did the food shopping on his way home so I didn't have to deal with it. Awesome. I took a nap. When he came home we started Mother's Day early and ordered in some dinner (Mexican, yummmm). Also watched Velvet Goldmine, which we both hadn't seen in a few years. Man, that movie sure is gay. In the best of ways! Ewan McGregor as the Iggy-esque rocker was like, too much to handle. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is hot in his own pretty boy way. And young-ish Christian Bale as the sexually confused glam rock fan was blowing my mind. It was like a trifecta of hotness! And bonus points for Eddie Izzard. Yesterday we took it easy. I got my gifts, which kick ass:
So we watched the Ziggy Stardust film in the morning while sipping our coffee. Had many lulz about the outfits. But t'was inspiration for the Halloween costumes we want to, but probably never will execute. After that Sean did some yard work (oh, so homeowner-ish) and I chilled with Henry. We decided to go to, where else, the mall after that. Ha. I had said I didn't necessarily want to do shopping that day but the weather wasn't too hot, so my original plans of taking Henry to the park were foiled. I scored some much needed new bras and underwear. Yay for that. Came home, made a nice dinner of steak and potato & green bean salad, watched some Mad Men and then hit ye olde sack. All in all, a nice first Mother's Day!
