Well after almost 2 years of living in this house, we're finally procuring some art for the walls. It's a bit ironic you might think, that an artsy sort of person has nothing on their walls. But it's true. Well, we have had 2 posters framed and hanging for awhile now, but that's really it.
Here's our tactic. We figure, why spend $ on pictures of random landscapes, paintings, etc. that have no meaning to us whatsoever, just in the name of filling up space? We feel we should hang things that we really like, or that say something about us. So the first two things we have framed are my beloved White Stripes Rob Jones lithograph I got at their "secret show" a few years ago.
The next is another Rob Jones, from The Raconteurs show I went to about a year after that. I don't LOOOOOVE it but I do like it, and I wanted it because it was from the show I was at.
Last night we purchased these 2 awesome awesomenesses:
BOWIES!!! Cute!!!
We've got our eye on getting a Queens of the Stone Age litho, there are tons out there we've just got to find a good one. Also would like to get some other bands we really love but not every band does these per-show posters. Well, it can also just be artwork in general. Like I definitely want to buy some vinyl of our all-time-favorite albums and frame those. Also, we have about a thousand old ticket stubs from concerts we've been to over the years. I am thinking of arranging them into a frameable piece of art. Perhaps by layering them in rows, like scales, etc. Something abstract but also so you can see all the tickets. Wish us luck!
