I had the perfect flight lined up for #LA15SCBWI. (The 44th Annual SCBWI Summer Conference) I was leaving NY at 1pm which gave me enough time to get the dog and the boys where they needed to be and plenty of time to get settled in LA before the conference kicked off on Friday ( Read more... )

The NYSCBWI Conference kicks off on Friday and I just heard that the Conference has SOLD OUT!  I love knowing that the children's writing community is loaded and ready for bear.

I always look forward to any SCBWI event--meeting up with all my friends, inspiring speeches, long lines to use the ladies room.  (Well, maybe not that one.)  But the rest ( Read more... )

I don't mean to scare you, but we are now HALFWAY through the conference.  And that's only because I didn't attend the Intensive Sessions on Monday.  I've never been to anything like this before.  It's amazing and exhausting.  At this point, I'm sucking down ice tea, caffeine riddle soda and full-on regular coffee as needed.
