students yes, but if I talk to he lecturers, they'll just say the same as my mum, which basically means i've wasted a year and a half of my life

How do you know they'll say the same? Don't you have some form of counsellor or tutor? I'm not trying to downplay your problems. It just seems there must be someone you can talk to about this. Is this the only problem with the course or are there others?

The lecturers keep going on about making sure we are on the right course, and telling us all that certain things will be needed when it comes to the proper job, and how if we can't do them now, will we be able to do them later in life.

By that I don't mean if can't do them to perfect standard, or do them without any mistakes.

My tutor is a bastard, he made me rush my last assessment because he didn't want to stay later than a specific time, even though we (and other groups) had been told we had three hours to complete it. He wanted us to be finished within two.
