ArtEvDaMo2011 Day 14-30

Dec 03, 2011 00:08

From the 14th to the 23rd, I was a good artistic girl and spent some time every day working mostly on my heraldic embroidery project, except for one day which was spent with my son on his field trip. But then like every time I've tried ArtEvDaMo, I ended up with a cold, and too sick to actually work on anything. I was too tired and too sore from the constant coughing to do much of anything but stare at screens - tv or computer, or even the inside of my eyelids, a lot.

So on the heraldic embroidery, I've got almost all of the passing thread on the ground fabric, except around one set of seed pods which I've not finished. I also did all the satin stitches on the seed pods, with flat silk - which is working a lot easier than I had feared it would. Except for those times I did snag the silk on my rough hands, well, rough cuticles. Must do something more for them.

And with the new book Goldwork, Techniques, Projects and Pure Inspiration by Hazel Everett, I've finally got some new ideas on how to work the centers of the flowers to finish those, I just need to do that. I still need to work on the center heraldic piece which I've not done anything on.

Yesterday, after AEDM was done, I did start on a new piece of embroidery, which will be a gift for a friend so for now I can't say much about it. Once I have given it I will post about it. It shouldn't take me too long to work on it, and I must remember to take progress photos.
