(no subject)
So I spent my Halloween in the scariest place possible...the hospital. My six patients slept throughout the night. It was so nice. However, I was still up and running. Two other nurses had groups from hell and our floor was filled with very sick people. We ended up sending 2 of our patients to the ICU. And at shift change, one patient began having a reaction to her chemo. Plus, we had half the floor up all night calling out for pain meds. It was crazy. The worst thing that happened in my group was a leaking colostomy. One of our techs up and left early and left a ton of work to be done for the other tech. It will be nice to have tonight of. Although I am bored. My life away from work consists of cleaning and reading. I'm also looking for a new apartment/townhome.
A couple weeks ago, I had a weird adversion to smoking. It came out of nowhere. Witht that said I am smoking one cigarette a day. Sometimes it's two. I honestly was not planning on quitting but it just happened so I'm going with it.
I started Christmas shopping and hope to be done by Thanksgiving. I'm not dealing with crowds. Bird told me it's going to be a scant Christmas since my brother needs a freaking lawyer and all his court shit is emptying my parents. I don't want anything from them. I do want to make it special and give them some nice stuff. Afterall, they deserve everything after what they've put up with.
