I have a hard time remembering that it's only a couple of days until Christmas. It feels more like April. When I walked into the kitchen this morning, the window was open and a spring-like breeze was in the air. And it doesn't help that it has been rainy out. I'm not complaining. I'm all about the warmer weather. I walked to the mail box earlier wearing flip-flops and a light jacket. I enjoyed my little walk and hoped that it would be this nice in Pennsylvania. I'm not holding my breath though. It's always colder there.
I am almost done with my shopping. Every year I say that I will begin in November. Every year, I wait until the last minute. So maybe next year I will actually get an early start. Shopping for my family is pretty easy. They never want anything to begin so they are happy with anything. They'd be happy with a rock. I usually get gift cards or clothes. I always get my brother ugly clothes because he actually wears them. My sister called yesterday to ask what CD she should buy Doug. She asked so she could make sure I didn't have whatever it was she bought and it would be something I would listen to. That's right, she's getting him something we can burn for ourselves. That's what she did last year when she got me the new Rufio CD. We buy stuff not only for each other, but for ourselves. She ended up getting the Snakes on a Plane soundtrack after I vetoed the New Found Glory CD. I really think Doug could care less what we get him.
These last couple of days have been really good because I got to see some friends from out of town, On Tuesday, Rusty came over and we spent the day together. It was so nice to see him and talk with him. Later on when Laura came home we hit Target and played Monopoly. We were all super tired and before long we were laughing at everything. Rusty stayed the night and on Wednesday we went to Johnny Rockets for lunch. We spent the rest of the afternoon watching Better Off Dead and sitting around. Last night, Trish and Adam came over. We made a beer run and watched Harold and Kumar, an episode of Ren and Stimpy, and to my surprise and shock anime porn. I went out of the room for a minute and when I came back in they were watching anime porn. I was deeply disturbed and probably will be for a long time. Needless to say, we didn't watch much. I went off to bed while they were watching Son in Law so I could get up at a decent hour to get stuff done. Laura called me at 8:45 to make sure I was up and I've been doing laundry since. I've got a lot of little things I have to get done before I leave tomorrow. With that being said, I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!
