7th Storm :: King of Pirates
"This is bad!" all of the servants and staff--basically--cried as they scurried and scrambled about the household once my crew and I arrived in the "safety" of the palace. Masato and Shinpei were holding a one-sided conversation where Masato was asking questions and Shinpei was just crying. Yuji and Chiyu grabbed pots and pans before heading toward the direction of the stables. (No doubt going into town, banging on pots and pans, trying to find Takeru.)

Meanwhile, the lieutenant (Manabu, was it?) was trying to stop the chefs from going any further. His screams were heard as he rushed down the corridor--slowly but surely losing his calm. The navy had probably thought ahead and made sure that the disappearence of their king was a secret--in order to keep calm. Without a king, what could they do? Panic would obviously arise and destroy this kingdom. Not only that, but there were no current heirs to the throne to take Takeru's place. Meaning, in his temporary (hopefully) absence, Masato would have to take charge for a bit.

Just looking at the brunet makes my stomach churn in sympathy. The poor guy looked devestated and anxious. He was absolutely loyal to the king, and sitting on the king's throne would displease him so much. Masato had made a decision to not take a seat on the throne until 72 hours have passed and there was still no Takeru. Until then, he was in charge of Operation: God Save the King--along with Platoon 1313.

Speaking of Platoon 1313, Byou had shot a nasty look towards us earlier. It was as if he was weary of us. Of course we would look suspicious. We're "travelers" whose ship sunk. The only evidence that we sailed on a ship was the name plate of the S.S. Hofu that was brought back to us by Hiroto and Saga. It was enough to say that we were pirates--although I'm certain that everyone in the palace knew about us already.

"How do we not know that those travelers didn't take him?" Byou spat out maliciously. I suppose he didn't have a very good impression of pirates. It was probably a really bad experience if he was this pissed at us--for not a very good reason, in my opinion. Hiroto glared back at him, hearing every word he had said. Sargeant Kazuki sighed before palming his forehead. Apparently, Sargeant Kazuki didn't like this attitude he had towards us either.

"They didn't take him, Byou," Kazuki assured.

That was when I decided to join in the conversation. "Did he go out to search for Shousuke?" I questioned. At that moment, I felt something paw at my leg. Turning around, I found the little bear cub staring at me. Even his eyes were dark and sullen--worried for its best friend and master. "I guess not..." Byou rolled his eyes and snorted, earning him a glare that didn't make him flinch.

"Shou, I'm going to look for him," Hiroto declared before running off towards the direction of the exit. I didn't even have a chance to protest. Hiroto was always doing reckless things--more than Nao and I ever did. It was awfully cute and brave of him to suggest a thing, but did he have any weapons on him? Tora sighed before running a hand through his hair.

"Well, I guess we're going to have to follow our squirrel," the tiger mused before gesturing towards me. With a quick nod, I sprinted off to the direction in which Hiroto went. I really couldn't afford to have him get lost on this island. Despite it being a bit small, it was still enough for Hiroto to go missing.

The blonde often took on the role of "damsel in distress," after all. No matter how much he tried to change that fact, it would always remain true.

[With Takeru]
His feet led him to the shore on the northeast side of the island--the side in which was secluded. There wasn't much life here, and there wouldn't be if you disregard the trees and the temple. The blonde stopped immediately as he sat down on a stone next to his friend. He smiled upon seeing the tiny top hat resting on his raven haired head.

"You kept it?" Takeru questioned.

"Mm," the stranger replied. "You talk now?"

Takeru grinned and laughed. "Surprising, isn't it? Tero-sensei was positive that I was a mute. I suppose a mermaid died and gave me a voice," Takeru responded. "Tero-sensei isn't one to believe myths or anything though. Not many doctors do. Even Shun and Giru-sensei don't believe that a mermaid died for me. Hey, Pirate King, do mermaids exist? You've been out at sea long enough."

The King of Pirates merely chuckled. His hand unconsciously traveled to the eye-patch covering his left eye before his hand slowly slid down to his lap. The young king stared at his friend--concerned. Before he could ask if he was fine, the King of Pirates answered, "They do, Takeru. They do. I saw one before I nearly died..."

Immediately, Takeru changed the topic. He didn't want to hear about how his friend almost passed away. Some said he had a god's blessing on his side; others said that he had the devil's luck. Whatever it was, he wouldn't tell Takeru, and Takeru didn't want to know about such depressing matters. Instead of having some awkward, strange silence after years, he said, "I see that you still dress nicely--for a pirate, that is."

"And, you, Takeru, dress rather sloppily for a king. Are you getting lazy again?" he retorted.

The king smirked at his fellow ruler. "Please. Me? Lazy? Nope! I just didn't feel like wearing layers--especially when I'm meeting you," Takeru remarked before resting his head on the older's shoulder. "I shouldn't be doing this, I know, yet you agreed to meet with me on this beach on this very day--you, a man who is so cautious when you're around royals. It's fine with me though, how you have an image that can easily entice those of higher status. You'll turn them all down, and I don't mind being rejected either."

Serenity allowed them to relax for just a moment. Takeru closed his eyes. He wished that he could fall asleep, and, when he wakes up, Kanon would still be there. He turned his head towards his friend and questioned him about his crew, "How's Miku and the others doing?"

"Fine, I guess. Miku's off teasing Takuya and Yuuki about not being open in their 'relationship,' Teruki is fighting Miku for what's under Bou's skirt, and I'm just sitting there--wondering how the hell my ship didn't sink already and how the hell I managed to become the King of Pirates with them," Kanon answered.

Takeru laughed. "Well, it's fine, isn't it? You love them, and they love you in return," the younger mused. "I heard you got a new ship. Whatever happened to Merry-Nyappy?"

"Miku forgot about the anchor when we landed, so it floated away," Kanon replied dryly.

There was a silence.

"...Wow."

"Exactly. You better get going now before everyone gets too suspicious," Kanon suggested as he stood up. He quickly added, "I have to do the same thing. Miku gets too nosy and noisy when he's awake. It's nearly time for his shift." Takeru pouted but listened and waved goodbye to his friend. As they headed opposite ways, the young king wondered why he couldn't stay any longer. Why did Kanon have to sneak around? The King of Pirates was always welcomed here.

His thoughts were quickly erased when he saw Hiroto running towards him. "Takeru! Are you okay?!"

"Hiroto-chama!" Takeru exclaimed before he was whisked away towards the palace by the group of pirates. Masato and Shinpei nearly jumped him when he showed his face, and a cautious Kazuki pulled him into the infirmary for a check up--although he was perfectly fine.

Shun-sensei greeted him with a smile. "Takeru-sama, what did we get into today?"

Takeru pouted. "Absolutely nothing, Shun-sensei," he lied through his teeth, "I just happened to go out for a walk, and everyone over-reacted." Shun-sensei merely chuckled.

Shun-sensei was the doctor that they usually nabbed in case of emergencies. Normally, the dark haired doctor was on stand-by just in case of emergencies. There was another doctor, Giru-sensei, who aided any servents and attendents. Then there was Tero-sensei, a doctor who was rarely seen--and when he was seen, it was for some sort of surgery. The three doctors were also accompanied by a nurse named Rame. Despite the feminine appearence, Rame was actually a male (disappointing many, from what Takeru knew).

After the announcement that Takeru was just fine spread through the palace, everyone but a few select servants went to bed--resting for tomorrow's events. Unfortunately, there was one soul that could not sleep.

[SHOU]
The bed was indeed comfortable, and I could close my eyes perfectly. I could relax and allow my body to get some well-deserved rest, yet sleep did not welcome me with open arms. For a moment, I wondered why. Was it because I was on land? Sure, I was more comfortable sleeping with the waves lulling us softly back and forth, but I was born on land. Perhaps, ever since my fascination with the sea, the land did not welcome me back whenever I'm on it again.

Whatever the reason was, it wasn't like I'd be able to go to sleep even if I knew.

Anyways, I probably only wanted to convince myself that it was because I was on land. Although I've been waiting years and years to see Arisu-san again, I can't help but feel that apprehension was slowly swallowing my stomach, dissolving it into pure anxiety. Questions that have drowned to the bottom of my mind have resurfaced and presented themselves clearly in front of me.

How did Arisu-san get pieced back together?

Why is she at Royale SuGizo?

Are there any other survivors?

That last question repeated itself within my mind. Is my damned father still alive? Did he perish in the sea--proud as any other pirate? As I gnawed on my lip, I began to draw blood, soaking my tongue in the warm and metallic taste. Turning on my side, I stared at the body length mirror placed across from me. I found my hand straying towards my eye-patch before gently pulling it off.

A dull, gray eye stared back at me before it glowed yellow.

Immediately, before anything could happen, I covered up my eye and sighed. Swinging my legs over the side of the bed, my feet led me to another room--Hiroto's room. I brought up a fist to knock on the door, but it wouldn't move at all.

He was probably asleep. I shouldn't disturb him.

By the time I had come to the decision to turn back around, the door opened. Hiroto blinked sleepily at me. "Shou...? What are you doing...?" he questioned.

I smiled, lightly brushing off his inquiry, before asking, "You're still awake?"

Hiroto yawned. "Mm... Somehow. I'm a little tired, but I had the strangest dream--so I woke--" Before Hiroto could finish his explanation, I wrapped my arms around his body tightly--as to never let go. I myself was in shock, and I didn't expect Hiroto to not be surprised. He was just as astonished as I. His body, stiff, soon relaxed as his arms snaked around my waist. "Shou, what's wrong?" he whispered.

"Just for a moment," I pleaded him softly, "just for a moment...can we be like this?"

His grasp tightened--instinctively sensing that something was wrong--as he nodded against my chest.

"Okay," he promised. There was a short pause and awkwardness in the air (it was all Hiroto's fault, I'm positive) before Hiroto suggested going into his room. After a muffled "why?" came from my lips, he answered with, "Because I don't want to spread weird rumors around this palace if we get caught out here..." A curt chuckle escaped my lips before I pulled him into his room. Closing the door behind me, I instantly locked it before pushing Hiroto against his bed--causing Hiroto to squeal, startled.

Pinning his wrists above his bed, our lips locked. The smaller gasped, allowing my tongue to slip past his lips. Although I came on too strong, and I basically attacked him, he accepted me. Everything faded away, and the world only belonged to us. As we told each other our secrets and fears, our limbs entangled themselves in each other, our fingers entwined, and our seeds mixed.

That's when I took away all of his fears, and he promised to take care of mine.

Just for a moment, I wanted it to be the two of us in our dream world, but a moment could only last so long.

I failed to see that my cover had fell from my face, resting on the floor, until Hiroto closed his eyes--sleeping peacefully in our soaked white sheets. I crept to the floor and gently picked up my eye-patch--praying to the gods that nothing would happen to Hiroto.

But, then again, why would they care? After all, I have abandoned them.
