Call for help - anti filter campaign website

Mar 16, 2010 14:27

EDIT - 16 people photos so far (plus two of a cats and one of a duck :)), keep them coming :-)

Many of you are aware of the work Thomas is doing with a group called Tech Liberty (Defending civil liberties in the digital age).

I'm working on a campaign website to oppose the internet filter being implemented by the government.

We need your help. If you support the work Tech Liberty is doing on this here is an easy way to contribute.

The website will have  a slideshow box or banner rotating between pictures of people opposing the filter. Obviously we don't want to go live with the website until we have seeded it. I'm aiming for 20 photos of people holding signs before releasing the site.

What we need:

A picture of you holding a sign expressing an anti-filtering message. I used the slogan "Stop the Filter" but the message is up to you.

How you can send the image to me by either:
When do we need it:

We're hoping to release the campaign website on Friday this week. So before then! (after the release of the site we will still want pictures but we need to start it off!)

Please feel free to encourage other people to send them to us as well. It is being done informally at the moment and we will promote it more actively after the website is up.

Thanks for your help. If you want to know more about the internet filter being implemented please read: http://techliberty.org.nz/issues/internet-filtering/

P.S. your photo doesn't have to be awesome. See mine! :-)
