Got back from San Francisco last night, well actually this morning around 1:00 AM. I was so freaking tired. But I had a good time. My hubby accepted the job with Identity Engines yesterday and he turned in his resignation to the University today.
What's nice is that even though the company is located in San Fran, we don't have to move. SCORE!! As much as I like San Fran, I really don't think I would want to live there.
Identity Engines really schmoozed us while we were there. We stayed at a hotel in San Jose called The Fairmont. Freaking fancy! Our room actually had a name and a doorbell. We walked in and the first room had the sofa and a TV and a dining table. Then the bed was in a second room off to the left. It had a mini bar and a full size vanity with a walk-in closet. Who needs a walk in closet at a hotel? I dunno . . . the the bathroom was huge and even had a TV in it AND a telephone next to the toilet. Yet another question, who needs a telephone next to the toilet? I guess it would be a good thing if you noticed you were out of toilet paper after you had begun to do your business . . . I managed to resist the temptation to call people when I was on the can. It wasn't an easy thing, but I managed.
We went to this great restaurant on Wednesday night that was on the border of Chinatown and Little Italy in San Fran. It was called Firenze By Night. If any of you happen to be in the area, I totally recommend it. I had this penne pasta with prosciutto, chantrell mushrooms and some sort of wine sauce. Holy freaking crap! It was delicious. I also had a salad with tomatoes, red onions, fresh mozzarella, homemade croutons, fresh basil and this fantastic vinaigrette. Yummy yum yum. Of course, I had to get dessert. I'm not really a big dessert or chocolate fan, but this was great. I had a mango sorbet in the center surrounded by vanilla ice cream and then that was all coated in a white chocolate shell with milk chocolate syrup. *drool* I'm getting happy just remembering it . . .
Yesterday we went to Japan Town in San Fran. They are getting ready to tear it down. I think cause its ugly. I just hope they build a new one because that place is amazing and has so many great shops and restaurants. It also has some special meaning to me since the first time I went there it was on a trip with
iceysolstice,
nefie and Jade Griffin. We had a blast. I didn't get to spend as much time there this time as I would have liked, but at least I made it to Kinokuniya the big Japanese Book Store. I got some neat swag including something for
mikasaigo. ^-^ She'll hopefully like it. I got myself a big
Totoro hoodie. So cute!!! Also very warm!
I swapped my Friday morning shift with a co-worker who usually works Friday nights. So I'm working until midnight tonight. Good thing I brought a lot of crap to do. Although I've pretty much just been chatting with
nefie. Meh, at least I'm not bored. I'll probably start downloading some manga soon . . . I need to catch up.
Well, on Sunday Chris and I leave for Disneyland. I am really excited. I haven't been since I was 8 so it's changed a lot since I last saw it. We'll be staying for a whole week. Happy happy!!
Ugh, I am tired. At least a lot of stress has passed though. I can at least relax for a few weeks! ^.-
