I Hate Missing Church!

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted a blog. I've been pretty busy, and over the last few weeks, I've had various reasons that I've had to miss church. Most of the time, I use the messages at church as the basis for my blogs, and not being able to go to church has left me slightly uninspired to blog.

Two weeks ago, I had to leave church after the first service because I was feeling sick to my stomach. Financial difficulties made it nearly impossible for me to make it to church last week, and today I was feeling sick again. When my routine has been getting up at 7 or 7:30 AM on Sundays, and staying at church all day, missing it the last few weeks has been really hard. I'm just glad that I've been able to attend West Tokyo service on Saturday nights every week except last week.

About two and a half weeks ago, I met a guy at the base where I work, Saram Chea, who had been in Japan only about a week. On a whim, I invited him to church. He's really taken off and shown a real interest in learning about Christian life. I'm really hoping that he'll continue to learn and want to have a relationship with Jesus one day. With the help of Richard, Dan, Lewis, and the other great guys at Jesus Lifehouse, I have faith that one day he will!

I'm really happy for one of the girls in my lifegroup, Alecia, who got baptized last week! (sorry if I misspelled your name!) At this week's West Tokyo service, she got a certificate and vouchers, and our lifegroup got up and prayed for her. I've only known her a couple of weeks, but she's awesome! Another girl (I didn't get her name) got saved and she's going to be joining our lifegroup next week too. There are now five girls in our lifegroup, and I think that the more girls we have, the better our Bible studies and testimony-sharing will be.

There's another girl that I met last week, also living here in Atsugi. She's already a Christian, and we've been hanging out quite a bit, and she'll probably be going to church with me next week. If I keep this up, I'll be able to start a lifegroup here in Atsugi soon! I really think God has planted a vision for Atsugi and the Yokohama area, for the time that I'm here in Japan, to help expand the work of the church and bring in more and more people.
