My recovery from bronchitis is proving annoyingly non-linear (which I think is also the case for everything else in the world, except for some intellectual constructs). Today I discovered that our nearby Dollar Store has Luden's Wild Cherry Cough Drops! Many of these recent nights, when I've been up in the wee hours, coughing my head off, sucking on some horrible mentholated thing or other, I've remembered the Luden's cough drops of my childhood, and wished I had them instead. Grr! I've been trying to be really good about resting and not overexerting myself while I'm recovering from the bronchitis, so yesterday I ended up resting (physically, anyway, though I did several hours of sedentary work on art projects) all day so that I could be in the best possible shape for biking to get groceries in the evening ( Read more... )

Now that I'm coughing less and have no fever, I've been trying to start doing small amounts of normal stuff again, but I'm still ending up totally exhausted. For example, I had lunch with Lisa yesterday at Le Bateau Ivre (only a few blocks from my house), and we spent about 2 hours eating and chatting ... and I was worthless the rest of the day. It's interesting. Most of the tv shows I watch had Veteran's Day episodes this week, something I've never noticed happening before.
