BAD Monday - Trouble in the hood. . . . .
My roommate sends me this e-mail at 4:30pm. . . .
"Corner of Baker and Grove, RIGHT in the intersection, a kid just got shot at 3:15. The window of the laundromat AND a car on the corner of Hicks Temple got their windows blown out. Hicks temple was riddled with bullets, too. The kid was 17, they don't know his condition and there are literally 40 semiautomatic shells strewn all over the intersection and 'hood as well as caution tape from tree to car to post from Ms. Anne Kelly Dressmakers house to mid block next block and from the Lyon house on one side of Grove to the cactus near Pacific Primary on the other.
There are about 15 cops."
Now this is the 3rd shooting I can recall over the last 8 years in the neighborhood. . . . .the really fucked up thing is that this corner is ALSO SHARED by a PRE-SCHOOL. . .that apparently has purchased Hicks Temple to expand into. . . . . . I can only hope that this did NOT occur while the kids were in school or in the process of being picked up by their parents. . . .
