The dance classes are wonderful. Lucy and Taran are enjoying themselves so much as am I. Next week is the last class of our session -- I believe Lucy plans to continue, but Taran may not (he would if it were a class where we could dance together -- he so enjoys learning the steps with me and I love dancing with him). The Jazz class T and I take is pretty cool; The instructor starts moving and we follow, then she goes back and breaks it down for us so we can fine tune our movements. All the kids and moms are pretty talented, but I am enthralled with watching Taran - he moves with such ease and suppleness. The kid has rhythm and loves to dance -- the two of us have created Shaolin Jazz (a combination of his Kung Fu and Jazz moves).
Lucy's next class will be open to visitors. I think I will ask Chuck to take photos of her -- I'm dancing with her so much, I don't have a chance to grab any snaps. In this last class she wore her personalized leotard (it has a tutu attached) - we used fabric markers to decorate it. Of course it looks great on her, especially the "L" she has on her chest. Her moves are beautiful to watch and she receives so much joy from the class. When it was her turn to dance in the center of the circle, she spun for all she was worth and giggled and then wanted to do it again. She also looks to be interested in barre work.
As a family, we always dance at home, but seeing them in a studio is so cool and even better, I get to be in the studio dancing WITH them. What an amazing gift.
