Our trip south
We've been planning to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Santa Nella, CA on our way to SoCal next month. We stayed there on the way home the last time we went. It was very nice, a decent price (we found a coupon in one of those traveler's magazines) and is about halfway.
Charlie's boss told him that he'll probably let him off work early the day we're going to leave, so I asked if he thought we'd drive further south than Santa Nella or not. He said we'll just stop at Santa Nella, even if it will be earlier in the day. He doesn't feel like doing our usual, which is that we drive until we're so exhausted that we just find wherever we can to stay and crash for a few hours before getting up in the morning and doing it all over again. So it looks like we'll stop at the HIExpress as planned, and it should be early enough that we can actually enjoy the pool or whatever, before going to bed and not be so exhausted.
