A quick drive-by, as my internet access on weekends is rather limited at the moment!
Slashababy 2012 authors have been revealed! I received And It's Good to See Your Smiling Face Tonight, by chaosmanor, a sweet fic involving Elijah and Orlando and flailing attempts at meditative calm and quitting smoking. It's soothing and lovely.
For this year's fest, I wrote Like the Past, the Now, the Coming Years for ipso__facto, Elijah/Billy, set during Sundance 2005. Happily, she enjoyed it! And I happened to enjoy writing it, too, relishing the chance to go all Elijah POV; his headspace is never not amusing and fascinating for me, even if it is sometimes difficult. As I might have mentioned, I think I couldn't have done more to make it read as something I'd written if I'd attached orange ponytails and an IV drip of caffeine to it, and I'm sure I was sussed out before the reveal. :) That's fine, though. It was an utter delight to write, for an utter delight of a recipient.
Some favorites this year (bearing in mind I am so not finished reading):
Alptraum; (Orlando/Dominic); I knew immediately Lala had written this, which is think is totally fair, as she recognized I'd written hers immediately, too. :)
Five Things Elijah Learned in New Zealand (and One He Learned from Dom); (Elijah/Dominic); I had Clammy and one other author narrowed down for this, so I'm glad I was right here, as well!
Fragments, Put Together; (Viggo/Bernard); this is just gorgeous.
Urge for Going; (Bean/Viggo); a lovely piece by Dani; I would expect nothing less from her!
This year's crop is just so enjoyable. *chinhands*
