So I've got a chance to move up in the company, and switch to a pickup/delivery position because apparently nobody above me in the linehaul area wants it. Problem is, I'm not sure I want it either. On the one hand it would have me working daytime hours again, which would be nice. I'd have my weekends free unless I picked up some extra weekend work when they needed it. 10 hours a day, 5 days a week. Thing is, that's really all the position has going for it. It pays less (currently I earn about $1,000 gross with my driving and dock work combined, the new position would pay $170 less), every day I'd wind up having to go different places down roads I'm not familiar with that may or may not permit a 13'6" truck, which I suppose isn't really too bad but I've gotten used to driving to places I'm familiar with. To be honest both of the 'cons' aren't really all that bad. I guess it really all just boils down to whether or not I want to work daytime for less pay, or night time for more pay.
Thoughts? Opinions?
