Artist's Notes: Well, I read this thoroughly amusing fic called Aerodynamics and the Power of Red Stripes by cygna_hime, and was subsequently encouraged to illustrate it. As I understand, cap_ironman is having some sort of spring challenge involving paper airplanes...
(Also, I really fail at foreshortening. Er.)
My story behind this: after a while, they figured out that paper airplanes actually made pretty effective projectiles, so Tony spent a lot of time developing a more durable model that could function as a smaller counterpart to Steve's shield. It worked, but unfortunately crumpled on impact. The idea was retired, with much regret, but the general agreement that Steve didn't really need another projectile weapon.
