Overall, life is good. Except for not having a job (besides tutoring, when that starts back up). But that isn't a big deal, to be honest, because I do have the tutoring I can do (and I'm not spending over $200 a month to travel to UNC anymore; yes, a large chunk of my budget went to travel and food expenses at UNC). I'm putting in for things as they come up, and doing everything I can think of, so... hopefully. :)
When I got back from Canada, my left big toe was VERY numb and sort of... off, due to wearing my DW feet all of Saturday night, and then wearing a pair of high heels Sunday morning (a pair that broke completely and dug into the side of my foot before I managed to get upstairs and remove them). Now, my left foot has always been different, with the big toe pointing more inward, but it has never really been a problem. After this, it sort of was.
Did some research and found out that it is actually a bunion (albeit a moderate one at worst). So I bought a nighttime thing to wear to help keep it straight, and I ordered something to wear in the daytime (couldn't find anything besides toe spacers in the store, and those could harm my other toes). With luck, I'll get a good system in place and slowly reverse some of the damage. Without surgery, there's no permanent correction possible (and even with, no guarantees), and I'd like to avoid anything that painful/expensive if I can. :P
And I finally replaced my sheets. For Christmas, I got a lovely set of microfiber sheets from Walmart that I helped my mom pick out for me. Now, they were very soft and nice (and a bit cheaper than many other sheet sets), but a few weeks ago, I noticed they were starting to pill terribly. Little not-lint balls EVERYWHERE, especially in the areas that touched me while I slept. When I did sleep, which was much less because of those things.
So I did some research and found a high customer satisfaction rate with sheets from Target. I went and picked up a pair (100% cotton, which is something else that is important, according to reviews), and discovered the joys of sleeping again. :) These things are seriously soft and lovely, and I'm hoping they will last a very long time.
In craft stuff, my basement is still a mess (haven't done a darn thing!), but I did manage to finish that knitted pair of socks. XD Pictures to follow soon. I'm trying to figure out how to get the video segment of me as DW from the CC32 masquerade DVD so I can post that to Youtube for my friends to see (and to brag on the Fursuit LJ, as it is my first fursuit). I also have a commission to work on (got the shoes in the mail yesterday!), so there's that.
