So, as I have found it harder and harder to stay in front of a screen to get any fic-reading done, I replaced my fic-reading by fic-listening. Which is really cool because it's something I can do with my eyes closed, in bed and with no light on. The trick is to not fall asleep of course. But you can also listen to podfics while cooking, walking, shopping, internet surfing, eating, er.. and maybe working ?
I have linked the fics, and two audio format : m4b (audiobook format for Ipod - it's really cool because this way the podfic isn't mixed with your music, and there are nice book covers ^^) and the regular mp3 if you don't own an Ipod. As for me, I really don't like mp3s for podfics, because when the fic is long, you have to listen to it in one sitting, and it can be inconvenient.
Also, I should say that none of the following links are mine. They all come from the amazing Jinjurly's audiofic archive. I has everything that's ever been made into a podfic (any genre and series, from manga to rps). I'm only showing you the way.
I'm still frustrated by the lack of HP podfics. The only ones I found were either very short, very bad, or read by a man with a very weird (russian ?) accent. :<
The most active fandoms are SGA, Supernatural (-_-,), Merlin (fairly new, but growing). I know there are some good Supernatural podfics, but the only ones I'm interested in are the AUs, since I don't like the show. So, sorry, I won't be reccing any SPN.
Those are only fics I loved, so obviously they're all recs, but I'll rate them from ♥ to ♥♥♥.
Stargate: Atlantis

It's an apocalyptic AU. And so fascinating. If you like apocalyptic worlds, this one is for you. I'd even go as far as saying you'll probably love it even you've never seen a SGA episode in your life. Yes, it's that good.
Why I'm reccing it : Because I was so moved by this story that I had *dreams* about this apocalyptic world. It sort of reminded me of I am Legend, the movie I mean, except instead of a very confindent Will Smith, we follow a very damaged John Sheppard, slowly losing the will to go on and his mind along with it.
The writing is beautiful, the pacing is good. I never wanted these 3 hours to end. At some point, I remember thinking "Wow, this story doesn't even need to become slash !" because John and Rodney's relationship as strangers with nothing to live for but each other, doesn't need to be more than that.
I'm not sure why, but this story is a little spooky too. Maybe because the only apocalyptic stories I've read/seen always had these blood-thirsty monsters in them, and I listened to this in the dark while there was noone in my big house in the middle of nowhere.... Well anyway, I can only urge you to read/listen to it now.

Why I'm reccing it : This was so funny ! XD I had read the fic quite some time before Zoetrope recorded it, but I must have read in another time, and listened to it 4 times since.
I think no previous knowledge of SGA is required to listen to this. I think one of the best part of the SGA fandom is the numerous possibilities of AU, and this one may not be the most original, but the writing is nice and full of humor, Rodney is so... Rodney. And John is very fanon!John (and by that I mean : ex-military gay sexy MENSA-smart and nice with the ladies! John. :P). I loved all the little daly life details and well it was just a very happy and warm story. Something to listen to on a rainy day. :)

Why I'm reccing it : Too bad there's not podbook of this, because I love it. It's so cute and funny, and very clever too. It made me think of The Office, but with SGA characters. I love goofy John. <3 It's an AU... But not really. :)

I love lamardeuse's fics. I love her writing and how she writes John and Rodney. This is not an AU, but I should warn you that it's a "Rodney finds a device that can turn him into a woman" kind of fic.
Why I'm reccing it : I love woman!Rodney ^^; I mean, it's been done a lot in this fandom. I don't know if it's because we have an exemple of what Rodney would have been if he'd been born female (because of Kate Hewlett, David Hewlett's sister in real life and in the show), or because of the Meredith thing, but it's certainly very popular. It's become a genre on its own. And this is one of the best fics of this genre. It's very cracky stuff and not that serious, it's sexy and cute.

Summary : Everyone wondered just where the nude pictures of Colonel Sheppard had come from.
I'm not a fan of Icarus' writing, but this is really interesting. You might be wondering "What ? Something that's not her OTP ??". Yes well, that's how you know a good fic. In this, Lorne is a photographer (it's almost canon, since in the show he er... paints. O_o;), and he asks John to model for him, which John automatically translates "I want to see that hot body of yours". XD
Why I'm reccing it : It was damn sexy. And I loved Lorne's voice in this. He's not an easy character to write, since we know next to nothing about him, but Icarus really captured a Lorne I'd loved to know more about. The military vs artistic nature of the story was really interesting as well. Not my pairing, but I thought the chemistry between these two was really perfect.
House

I don't read House fics, but there came a time when there were no more SGA podfics worth listening to, so I was forced to stray from the path, and I found out something great : triedunture's writing of House and Wilson is fantastic.
Why I'm reccing it : Obviously, because there are so few good Wilson/House around, and people need to know they exist. Plus, I think triedunture's reading voice is really sexy. She has a deep almost groggy voice, and I discovered I liked that. ^^; It makes listening to podfic a lot easier when the accent and the tone of the voice is clear and loud enough. She's one of my favorite readers.

Why I'm reccing it : This is really funny and snarky, with a side of cute. I like the writing, and how the evolution of Wilson and House's relationship feels natural and realistic. And triedunture's reading voice is a definite plus to the story. :)

So, I haven't read that many Merlin fics so far, so I'd like to rec more, but alas, it'll have to wait. But this one, I listened to in my bath, and I almost drowned laughing ! This a Merlin&Arthur are fratboys! AU. And they have to write a script for a movie. That's probably how the real show was made, if you want my opinion. XD
Why I'm reccing it : Duh ! Haven't you been listening ?! Fratboys !! Merlin and Arthur have conversations with words like "Dude" and "bro" and "smartass". XD Ahahah I can totally see it. Well, you just have to listen to (or read) it to find out about the rest. I loved how the characters from the show were used in this fic and then used in the script (aw, confusing you yet ?). Especially the dragon. LOL. So, if you've seen Merlin, and thought "ohmygod this was sooo written by a bunch of teenagers !" ... or most likely "WTF ?!", this fic will be like a bible for you ! XD
