I did told you before that I thought I was going to flunk INTRORE right?

Well, the next day was course card day, (which was yesterday, since today is friday almost saturday...) and I went with my Dad to school since from now on he is an "office" man... I arrived at 8:15 in DLSU-Manila and went straight to the Department of Communication to talk to Ms. Averion to reconsider my extra work even though it is late... I was waiting and waiting, and classmates kept on arriving which made me a little worried since it is course card day. I looked at my watch and noticed that it is already 9am--the scheduled time for Ms. Averion to give out our course cards. I was damn hell nervous because I assumed that she would already have written and finalized our grades on the course cards... It was already 9:30 and she was still not in school and 10 students waited and waited for her.

After 5 minutes, she arrived and dammet, tears were building behind my eyes for the scary revelation that was about to come. Haha... She entered the Department and we, students entered room M206 for that was the place that we were scheduled for. After a while, she entered the room with her carrying all those papers we have submitted to her and of course our course cards. BUG-BUG-BUG, there goes my heartbeat as soon as she one by one calls her students to show them their grades and give them their course cards. After calling each one, she called out the "alanganin" students--students who might fail the course which in that case, I was included. I raised my hand as soon as I heard my name called, and Ms. Averion immediately asked for the extra work. I was a bit shocked since I was expecting to first talk to her and maybe talk her ito passing me. But nevertheless, I handed her the extra work I did yesterday. I was not able to speak to her and tell her that I e-mailed her and sent her the soft copy of my extra work because I was nervous. I was able to speak "Yes" though and "Yes, Ms." replying to her when she told me that my grade is still "pending" and that she has to still compute it. After that, she exited the room and students from a different course began entering the room. Loui, Caresse, Tina and I exited the room after realizing the students came from the class of Ms. Sibayan--one of the terror professors of the Department of Communication. I waited for Ms. Averion to give me my course card, but I grew tired of waiting and went on with the three who were waiting for me. Suddenly, as I started walking away, somebody called me and as I turn, I saw Ms. Averion handing me my course card, which surprisingly I took, and she walked away. I looked at it and it has a 1.0 on it. I thanked her when she first handed it to me, and i called out to her and again, thanked her for passing me. Suddenly, the weight on my shoulders has been removed... and I felt relieved...

I knew for a fact, then that I have passed all the three courses--VIDPROD (surprisingly though!), RADIPRO, and KASPIL2. Video Production or VIDPROD whichever sounded better is the reason why I almost flunked INTRORE (Introduction to Research). It is because, it is the terror subject of the department with its professor--Mr. Vicente Groyon. Haaayy... Scary, for in videos projects, he notices even the slightest mistake in project screenings. He is just soooo "galing"!!! And well, I thank myself for having passed his super duper hard course and got a 2.0!!!.... With RADIPRO, on the other hand, I really didn't feel like going to class. Why? We never did anything interesting!!! All I remember interesting is the so-called "field trip" we had to MBC (M-something, something Broadcasting Corporation) where the AM and FM radio stations such as DZRH, LOVE Radio 90.7 and Yes FM 101.1; are located. I have to say, we didn't even meet the professor there, we just went there on our own, riding the orange shuttle from the Rizal Memorial Stadium to CCP--which has for me, I just rode on an FX and got off at MBC. She, the professor, was not even there to assist us the whole time we were there. On our own, we got to tour first, at the Love Radio Station, where we got to talk to the DJs--SexyTeri who was really Karen and "Monsour Betero who was really Mon... then we went to DZRH and had our pictures taken with the broadcasters. The radio drama was next... seeing "Looka" from Okay Ka, Fairy Ko was very exciting for me, because I watched that show, and was frightened by her. Next stop was, the YES FM, where we met Cholo Chorizo, whose real name is I can't remember... he was cute.. but with the hip-hop outfit......NOT!... Well, that was all the excitement I had for RADIPRO, oh and also the recordings...haha.. but all the time she was never there... darn...Even on course card day... we waited and waited for nothing.. She did not come, we only got our coursecards and drama scripts from Ms. Agnes. I only go a 2.5 which I was not expecting since she I did submit all requirments and believed to have did good in those recordings.

KASPIL2 also was, well, sort of a disappointment.. I don't know its just that it is a disappointment to me... I know I did not do well enough to get a 3.5 but I believe I deserve at least a 3.0 for that matter. For the love of God, it is a minor subject. I have 3 majors subjects in which 2 of them are a problem and KASPPIL2 is too much for me. Giving us soooo many paperworks when we already have too much we can handle for a term. KASPIL2 well, yes, it is a help for all of us (sarcastically, speaking)... But like, we already studied Philippine History in highschool I really don't think it needs more "attending to". Maybe a lot of oral discussions and less paperworks, I believe that would help the students more in shifting their attention from their cellphones, photographs, video projects, and others to the topic itself. After all tehe re-do of our project, I certainly believe that I deserve at least a 3.0 and not a 2.5.

Imagine my GPA from the first term of this year---it is 3.333 and take note, I have a grade of 1.0 in there which was INTRECO. I wasn't a dean's lister because of that, I didn't get a certificate but I certainly know in my heart that I am. Life was eezy-breezy and beautiful back then, when there are no majors....

2nd term, ---the first majors term... From 3.333 to 2.333. need not say more... I almost flunked INPRINT if not for the 3 points....

As for this term, let's do some math...
* VIDPROD: 3 units x 2.0 = 6.0
* INTRECO: 3 units x 1.0 = 3.0
* RADIPRO: 3 units x 2.5 = 7.5
* KASPIL2: 3 units x 2.5 = 7.5
----------------------------------------
Total: = 24.0 / 12 units
Term GPA = 2.000

A flat 2.000.. Hmmm... from 2.333 to 2.000. But consider this, if I got a 3.0 from RADIPRO and KASPIL2 which I believed I really deserved, let's see what GPA, I'll get...

*VIDPROD: 3 units x 2.0 = 6.0
* INTRECO: 3 units x 1.0 = 3.0
*RADIPRO: 3 units x 3.0 = 9.0
* KASPIL2: 3 units x 3.0 = 9.0
----------------------------------------
Total: = 27.0 / 12 units
Term GPA = 2.25

My term GPA would be 2.25. Lesser than 2.33 but definitely not far from it unlike a flat 2.0....

I promise next term...babawi ako.... It wouldn't certainly be lower than 2.0 but instead higher than it. And I promise, for the term where there are only floating subjecs, I'll be a dean's lister.... hahah

And now I'm singing'... My version of Destiny's Child's "I'm a survivor, 2 years in Lasalle, Haven't failed yet, even one subject.. I'm a survivor, I'm gonna be a... a Dean's Lister, for my last term!!!"
