7-3-10
Agh!!! I really can’t believe that I’ll be going back to America in less than 2 weeks. About 10 days, actually. It really doesn’t process right in my brain. Alas, today I started making preparations to see if I needed to buy another suitcase.
Turns out, I do! XD
Yeah, I have fully packed my first suitcase, and yet all of my clothes are still in my dresser drawers… XD It’s pretty bad. I have too many friends, basically. XD Lots of little things for people. I hope everyone likes their gifts. They’d better. Or I’ll hate you. XD XD
But in any case, I’m pretty sure I’ve finally finished getting presents for everyone. At this point, please do not ask me for anything. XD I might hurt you. XD But yup. So now, Imma weigh the sucker before too long… I think I might just bring the scale upstairs sometime. We’ll see.
Anywhoodly! I just finished dinner with everyone… I mean, everyone (for once). XD It was me, おかあさん、おばあさん、おとうさん、たかさん、ももか、ひかる、とまやちゃん。Twas nice. X3 We got to sit for a nice long bit of conversation since it was a relatively early dinner and I don’t have school tomorrow. Twas nice. I wish I had more time to do this more often… ;_; *sigh* I really can’t believe it’s almost time to go! I know a lot of people might be ready to leave, and I know there are people at home who I want to see, but I’m reaaaaaaaaaaaally going to miss Japan. And the friends I’ve made here, and my host family. ;_; Gah! Unfortunately, I don’t have much time to dwell on that, because I need to finish this entry and get to work on my final presentation/studying for my finals (BLARG).
In any case, today was interesting enough - we (being me, Brett, Amanda, and Taylor) went to Umeda again to do some last checking up on some things/showing people where some shops were (once we found them again). XD It was fun… eventually we went to eat lunch (at Subway, ha XD I had this awesome sesame bread, though… delicious), and then we went to the POKEMON CENTER!! XD It had ALL sorts of Pokémon stuff in there… it was pretty dang awesome. I wanted to buy all sorts of stuff, but I decided it would be better if I didn’t. XD They had so many cute things, though!! XD Especially with Mew, Eevee, and Pikachu… but so many others, too… XD it was overwhelmingly awesome. Once we were done at the Pokécenter, we finally decided to split up and me, taylor, n’ Amanda went to Osaka-jokoen again and Brett went off to MyCal.
We went back to Osaka-jokoen so Amanda could find some gifts for people cause she knew of some specific things she wanted to get… alas, while we were there, it decided to start seriously POURING… like… just hard-core raining. But! The trip was worth it cause Amanda got what she needed. It was weird/funny, though, cause on our way there, we had seen these greek guys (older-ish, like 50s) who didn’t quite know what they were doing (spoke some English, but probably not much Japanese), but they didn’t seem to need our help so we left them alone. Later, though, we saw them again, and then finally, on the way back to the station from Osaka-jo we saw one of them hiding under something from the rain XD Of course with my big-ass umbrella he essentially hopped himself under without reeeeeeeally asking, but it was okay. Just super awkward cause he had his shirt completely unbutton and his hairiness was all over the place. XD XD While you could probably get away with that in some places, it was VERY weird to me, and probably even more super weird to the Japanese walking by (there were a TON of people, cause I think there was a concert going on somewhere close). Sooo.. .yeah. Awkward. I’m glad I could help, though. He was really grateful. XD
At this point we hopped on a train back to Osaka/Umeda station to head back to our respective home lines. Basically, I think we were all worn out, especially due to the rain, so it was good that we got to leave at a decent time… I think I was home by 6 or maybe even 5:30? XD I usually never get home that early (I’m always at school studying) so it was a nice/relaxing change-of-pace.
But the most EXCITING event was on 木曜日(Thursday). We got to go to a Hashin Tigers’ game at their home stadium and I got some AWESOME pics and videos from it. It was just a great experience with great peeps… all very entertaining. AND a homerun ball landed literally right in front of me. I didn’t get it, but Taylor almost did… she literally had it in her hands, but then someone grabbed it (it was a pile of people in my lap, so we couldn’t see) and then no one ever found out who actually got the ball… it was really frustrating. XD BUT super fun! And the food was entertaining, too, so it made for a great evening. Oh, and the chants. The chants/cheers are awesome… baseball games are much more exciting in Japan. XD Really, though, the pictures tell enough on this one.
In any case, I really should get to work on my presentation some, or maybe read some more Rurouni Kenshin (I’m re-reading it)… XD We’ll see. じゃね/Byers!
