So, if you did not know, there has been a review for OotP posted on TLC. Found here  There was an advanced screening in Chicago. So I, of course, asked the person who wrote it up about Remus. Here is my question, and his answer.  There is some other info as well.

I have a question for you. I am a very big Remus Lupin fan, did he have much screen ( Read more... )

Can't say as I'm surprised at the lack of Remus in the movie. I had heard that David Thewlis was filming another movie at the time and so was unavailable for many OotP scenes. So I wonder of there's no hint of R/T in this movie, whether they'll allude to it in the next or just ignore the whole thing. That would royally suck! But honestly, the book is gianormous! How can we expect them to get everything in there? Which leads me to question the need for having Grawp in the movie. (apologies to any Grawp fangirls out there.)

At least us Remus fans will have the 7th book to look forward to. There no mustasche on that Remus!

Was he filming another movie? That would explain some of the deplorable lack of Remus. It would be very nice if there were some allusion to the R/T thing in OotP, but from all that I hear I highly doubt it. And, I really, really hope that there will be a little R/T in the next, admittedly it's not really that important to the plot (from what we know now) but it was still an interesting scene (and a very important one to use Remus fangirls!). Yeah, there is just so much they have to cut, which is very sad. I can't be the only one who would sit there for 3-3 and a half hours if there were more Remus. :P The only reason I can think to have Grawp in there is that he was important to that one Umbridge scene.

Yes, thank goodness for book 7! Here's hoping he features prominently!

The reason to have Grawp in the movie is the same reason to have a 10 minute chase with a free dragon in GoF: they want to show off their special effects departments and create stunning visuals.

Well, at least it'll be interesting visually.

I believe the movie that kept him away from OotP is The Inner Life of Martin Frost. I don't know if it will be widely distributed but he has way more screen time in it, playing the title character and all.

Having just re-read OotP, I should be able to remember this but did Grawp save Harry & Hermione from the Centaurs when Umbridge was with them or was that an earlier trip into the forest.

I'm crossing my fingers that Remus and Tonks get their fair share of print in the last book and a happy ending.

Oooh! I hope I'll be able to get it over here. I love David Thewlis.

You know, I am not quite sure. I need to re-read OotP.

I am crossing my fingers as well! :D
