Emergency situation
The city of Buffalo is under a state of disaster emergency. Well, I think the whole state of NY is actually. We are out of power along with approximately 230,000 other people. That means we don't have heat, warm water, and our fridge is out of power along with everything else. Now they're talking about the city running out of water by this afternoon because only a few of the water pumps are working. Brilliant! ...and I'm pregnant.
We've been at my mom's best friend's place all day. They still have their electricity and heat. But I think we'll go home for the night. I want to sleep in my own bed.
Problem is this: some people may not get their power back until early next week. I don't like the sound of that. What am I supposed to eat? I can't cook anything and everything in the fridge is probably ruined by now. This fucking sucks. I'm normally not superstitious but I can't help but think that it's Friday the 13th.
