One of the blogs I read sometimes mentioned that the were curious to see how the Vermont legislature same sex marriage thing would be able to be framed as sufficiently undemocratic. Alas, this is the answer.

In response to which, of course, there is only the classic Toby quote: "I don't know from where you get the idea that taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for anything of which they disapprove. Lots of 'em don't like tanks... even more don't like Congress. "
