The kids had fun making acorns yesterday. I had them take 2 different brown crayons and color some sheets of paper. Then they got to rip them up and glue them onto acorns that I drew for them.

They also spent some time on the letter A. Tracing it and writing it. I decided to start our letter tree again. We did this about a year ago and didn't get very far. Now that Keira is older and can participate I think it'll be a lot more fun and easy to stick with. I made a big tree out of construction paper and 26 apples with each letter of the alphabet on it (capital and lower case). Every week we're going to focus on a new letter. We're going to do various projects and worksheets each week. Some focusing on the letter of the week and some on the season/upcoming holiday.

Today they did a fun scarecrow craft:

Jack's is on the left and Keira's is on the right. I helped her a bit but she did great on her own!

I got both ideas from this great website.

We made cupcakes yesterday and today we frosted them and decorated them:

she started eating one before I said she could

so then of course he got to eat one too

then she started eating another one when I wasn't looking!

Then they worked on their A's some more and did a fun Halloween maze and colored some scarecrow color sheets.

We played outside for a while but had to come in because the boys next door were being awful. They kept saying things I didn't want the kids repeating like chanting at us "pee on your head, pee on your head" and "I'm gonna punch you down" and "you can't play with us....nana nana boo boo" and "I have a skateboard and you don't......nana nana boo boo" and so on. These boys are close to Jack's age and I don't want him having anything to do with them!
