Happy things!

Have had the most ridiculously busy/hideous week.

So... fun things!

A meme!

Comment and I'll pick seven of your icons, and then you will explain why you love/are using the icon (who doesn't love talking about their icons, seriously) and then post your explanation/this meme in your journal for other people to squee about their icons.

xfirefly9x picked for me! ♥ :D

My default icon, from Bones.
It's also my first paid account default icon, and I haven't changed it since! I love the colouring, and the starkness of the image. I think it's a little hard to tell just what it is unless you know (the lab, with two people at the bench with a microscope), but I specifically went out hunting for a "lab" icon, because that's my favourite set on the show. The towering walls, all of backlit bone drawers, is so pretty. And I really ♥ this icon.

One of my (many) funny face icons. The best part of House is the snark, and this is... visual snark. Such a hilariously contorted face!

I ♥ Gibbs&Abby. And Gibbs/Abby. So very, very cute, even if there is a giant age difference. Plus, Abby is my very favourite NCIS character. I absolutely love their relationship on the show - how they're so touchy and close, and how stone-cold Gibbs has this monster-sized soft spot for her. This icon just makes me... warm and happy. So cute.

Pretty much one of my favourite Bones quotes ever. And I made this one and the next one, and loved playing with colour tones and fonts and sizes. I get so frustrated with making image icons, and text ones are so... entertaining in their simplicity.

Another Bones quote that I just adore (and I made this icon, too, woohoo!). And the the tilted square decoration? A GIANT (like, 100+ size) period from that font, rotated. Hee.

Another icon that I made! Also, my first icon of my growing collection that celebrates my total bug-geekery. Even though an ant isn't technically a "Bug" (a Bug is actually an insect from the Order Hemiptera), bug geek sounds WAY cooler than insect geek. Has such a better ring to it! So, bug geek it is, and bug geek it stays. And seeing as ants are my second-favourite kind of insect, it's appropriate. The ant that is featured prominently on this icon is protomagnathus americanus, a slave-making ant. Which are absolutely fascinating, and hold raids on other ant species nests to steal their workers and enslave them. Crazy, crazy ants. ♥

And, xfirefly9x's favourite:

This is actually my first LJ icon, ever. It pretty much sums me and my LJ name (Kiki the ferret, from sluggy freelance) up entirely. So very, very easily distracted by shiny things. Hee.

And then! TV tonight! CSI + Supernatural = LOVE.

Ok, so I've been avoiding CSI since the premiere. I loved it, I loved the ending, and I was happy for my CSI to end there (especially with what I learned and who's leaving the show). And then... Ange and Libby were watching it while I was cooking dinner. And I wander over to see Grissom in a bee suit. I go "BEES!!!" and plonk myself down on the couch. And promptly flailed myself comatose with pure GLEE. He proposed!!! LOVE!!!! The bee stung her cause she shmushed her in shock! She said YES!!! *happy flaily dance of pure GLEE*
*deep breaths*
Ok, I'm good.

Next... SPN!
Pouty bad luck!Sammy was absolutely adorable. He is SO CUTE. When his shoe went down the drain? *flail* Also, Dean was kick ass. I loved how he didn't turn around when Sam tripped, and was just like "Sammy? You ok?" "...yeahh...." and then keeps going with the interrogation of sorts.
But Bella? Ugh. She needs to take a hike. Preferably off a cliff.
But this is probably my favourite episode of the season so far. So cute, and we FINALLY get some Sam & Dean interaction again.

Well, seeing as it's now 1:10am, and I have class at 9:30, I'm going to go to bed.

And even though I've had such a shitty week, and I almost had several nervous breakdowns today, and I'm getting sick, and ALL computers hate me... I'm pretty darn giggly at the moment.

ncis, bug geek!, bones, squee!, meme, csi, supernatural, bees
