So my friend Meredith came and spent the night at my house last night so we could head out early for hiking. We hit the trails at 10:20 equiped with "walking sticks" to help us navigate the ice. The trails were all very icy, some of them without a way to avoid walking on the ice. The poles we were using provided us with much needed stabilization. The walk was beautiful going on some trails/sections I've never been before. All told we were out for an hour and 45 minutes. There were a couple of times I really thought we were going to go flying and sustain TBI's. We had homemade minestrone soup waiting for us when our jaunt was over. Nothing like walking in the house to smell the delicious scents of something cooking.
