Snowflake Challenge: Day Nine

Jan 09, 2016 14:04

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

My goal in general is, sort of "be happy" and that's sort of a lot of moving parts and can feel a bit like climbing a mountain; it's an ongoing process. One of the things that I've realised over the past couple of months is that the way that I had been conceptualising my volunteer work with the OTW was making me unhappy. It's something that I carry out under my fannish identity, so I had been mentally slating it with things like consuming and producing fanworks and that really was not working for me.

So, I've changed how I think about and approach those things, and am so far much happier. I have a kind rhythm for how I maintain my real life relationships, that I don't really have to think about that much, I just sort of have a sense of when I need to meet with or call or e-mail or write to or whatever someone and do it. So, I am hoping to fall into a kind of pattern with fandom again, that I don't have to think about too much.

So, January is sort of boot-camp for that for me, doing
snowflake_challenge and then a Second Half of January Meme, and then February is my personal Femslash February. So I'm hopeful.
